I have a daughter with type 1 diabetes. She recently had a severe hypo. I thought she had died. Is this normal? Can you tell me if they breathe when they are having a hypo?

My 5year old son was diagnosed in June. We've had one significant nocturnal hypo, 1.4mmol. He was able to wake up enough to have some apple juice and all was good. But it made me think that I would like to have a sensor of some sort for when he is asleep that would alarm if his heart rate/breathing slows. I thought of the mattress ones they use for babies???? Not sure if they would work. Can you tell me if anyone has heard of anything?

Hi, I am the carer of a 2 year old with diabetes. She has become more hungry lately and also had more hypos than usual. I was wondering if this is because she's having a growth spurt and putting lots of energy into growing. Do I need to review her program with her diabetes team or just keep feeding her more?

My mum asks, why when my blood sugar levels drop to under the 4.0 mark don’t I have any symptoms?

My son is 17 and had a severe hypo two weeks ago. He has not been himself since. He’s not been eating as much and he gets very angry over nothing. He does not seem to be with it. I’m worried it’s going to happen again. He still seems disoriented now and again – a bit like concussion. Will he get better and back to his normal self? Thanks, awaiting your reply.

Hey I was just wondering, 2 weeks ago at skool I had a major hypo! and I thought when they gave u glucose they injected it into ur leg? because they injected it into my wrist! and last week at skool we had needles now my arm is all red could this have anything to do with it!! thanx allot Courtney

I have had diabetes for 3 years. It has never been stable. I have Hypo's often. When I have a Hypo, is it better to have 6 jelly babies & 1 exchange (this causes my BGL to go high), or is it better to have a fruit bar or muesli bar as it mixes the fast acting & long acting carbs together?
