Question: Can I take insulin on a plane?

Answer:

Hi Lizzie

It's important to take your insulin and all of your diabetes supplies with you when you travel.  You should pack your insulin in your hand luggage that you take on the plane otherwise it might get lost or damaged by changes in temperature in the luggage hold of the plane. It's a good idea to pack diabetes supplies in two different bags in case one gets lost.

It's OK for you to do your injection on the plane, the same way that you would at a restaurant or when you are out.  Telling the airline hostess that you have diabetes and asking them about the best place to do you injection is a good idea.
